Burn Belly Fat Exercises
Belly fat has been associated with numerous health-related issues. It’s been proven, though doctors are not sure why, to be the most dangerous type of fat in our bodies.
Many of us have gotten a little thick around the middle. If you happen to be one of them, there are some fantastic exercises to burn belly fat and decrease your risk of heart disease.
Exercises to Burn Belly Fat: Cardio
In order to burn belly fat, you must lose fat all over your body. Cardio is a great way to do that. Genetics creates a tendency in our bodies to accumulate fat in certain areas. Decreasing your percentage of body fat can make you feel better, healthier, and flatten out your stomach to give you the look that you’ve always desired.
The “best” cardio exercises to burn belly fat are the ones that you’ll stick with. The easiest way to do this is to integrate exercise into activities that you enjoy already, and to make sure that you spend at least 5 hours per week doing them.
The goal to burn belly fat doesn’t have to be a “chore,” or “work.” If you have a dog, take it on extended walks. Take your children to the park to play in lieu of the house. For a more social setting, go to your local recreation center and join an exercise class or take dance lessons. Do something fun and you can burn belly fat in the process.
Exercises to Burn Belly Fat: Core Strength
Endless sit-ups and crunches aren’t the only way to get a slimmer stomach. You can achieve faster results by using variations of these great exercises. Vertical leg crunches are a great example, and recommended by the American Council on Exercise. Simply lying on you back with your legs held at a 45 degree angle will burn belly fat quicker.
Doing leg lifts and crunches with the help of an exercise ball can develop core strength. You must maintain your balance with an exercise ball, which works all of your core muscles. Be sure to work your back muscles as well, to maintain muscle symmetry as you burn belly fat.
Exercises to Burn Belly Fat: Yoga
In terms of efficiency, yoga is hard to beat when it comes to stress reduction and core strength building. Yoga can strengthen your abdominal muscles as well as reduce the production of stress hormones, making it an excellent exercise to burn belly fat.
Your brain releases the stress hormone cortisol whenever your body is stressed out due to injury, illness, overuse of stimulants, or mental or emotional stress. Cortisol tells your body to begin storing fat, especially around the waist. This is an instinctive response–our ancestors once had to survive in times of famine. Storing the fat is an attempt at self-preservation.
Yoga reduces the production of cortisol by using breathing and stretching exercises that relieve muscle tension. Yoga uses relaxed, flowing motions to calm the mind, lower blood pressure, and slow heart rate, thus aiding our ability to burn belly fat.
Many yoga poses are highly efficient for toning the abdominal region. Seated or standing poses that require you to extend your legs and maintain balance, or poses performed in the supine position are highly recommended.

The key is consistency. Maintaining a regular routine of cardio, core strengthening exercises, and yoga, you will burn belly fat, lose inches from around your waist, and feel heathier and more relaxed.
